Autumn Leaf Painting Craft for Kids

What You’ll Need

Here’s the tools you’ll need for this super fun, autumn themed arts and crafts.

A piece of white paper (8.5 x 11 inches) or a white canvas

Leaves that you’ve found from your background or a nearby park

Newspaper

Tape

A paintbrush (or you can use your hands!)

Yellow, red, and green paint

step 1

Lay out all of your materials on your kitchen table with the help of your parent or guardian. Put on some clothes that are okay to get a little messy and covered in paint. Ensure the newspaper is covering the table.

Pick one of your favorite leaves from your collection. Lay it flat on the canvas or piece of paper. You can tape it down with the help of your parent or gaurdian.

With the guidance of your parent or guardian, pour small globs of the red, yellow and green paint on different areas of the canvas. You can put some on the leaf as well.

Now its time for the fun part! (You might get a little bit messy.) Use crumbled up newspaper or your paint brush to move the colorful paint around the canvas.

Step five

Carefully remove the leaf from the canvas. Next, allow 2-4 hours for the paint to fully dry.
